Met up with my army friends recently and asked him about his life. He is still in the army and was grumbling that life is ok but boring... ops :P
Was out from NS on the 15th July 2008, what a relieve... actually army life is ok but having to be confined is the sick thing. Every Sunday when everyone stay home to sleep and get ready for their next working day, we have to rush back to camp to get ready our next training day... Worse when we have to return back camp during public holidays... =(
Life in camp, everything have to listen to higher command... so there is less freedom. I like to exercise but in army you do not have the luxury to train up yourself slowly... fast results are always expected so every PT session is stretching you to achieve IPPT gold... Another irritating thing in camp is there are some people who you will always find them difficult to work with and giving you trouble...
Ooo...Gone were the days!!! So happy to gain back my freedom. Now i can choose what I want to sleep, what time i want to wake up, when i want to do sports, when i want to return home and so much more... EVERYDAY!!!! YEAH!!!...
Only one thing bothers me and it's being bothering me all these while... I have no income :( so have to be thrifty... so sad when i go out and see things i want to buy but i have to control myself... Was jobless for about a month. Now i am working, but the pay only comes in on the 12... got to wait patiently for the day where I can spend more freely...
I started working on the 8th September 2008 as a primary school TEACHER in Greendale Primary, a new school in Punggol Area...
Yes, I am 21 and yes, i am a Teacher... but i am an untrained teacher. Due to my ORD date I cannot enter this year's cohort in NIE so i can only enter next year. I am offered to be an untrained teacher so I can have a feel of how being a teacher is like and so I can better evaluate my choice. So far, I find teaching is actually quite fun and challenging. Dealing with kids is not as easy as one thinks. Being notorious is not the only challenging about today's ki
ds. Some kids today have psychological or emotional problems that are difficult to tackle. I have seen a few in my school and with them in a class is enough to make your whole lesson tiring. haha... Now I understand that just having a one hour lesson is already quite draining... you have to constantly maintain the discipline of your students to make sure they pay attention. To make sure they can hear you, you have to talk loudly and clearly throughout the lesson too... I teach Maths, Science, Art and Music is my school, all and all i have 6 classes. The most tiring is actually music lesson although i love music. Realising that kids have a shaper voice, to let them learn to sing a long, I have to sing with a higher key and loud enough for the whole class to hear-this really trains you diaphragm... haha. Another thing is that you have to hear the children repeat the song a few times... their songs are quite lalaby so it can make you go to sleep haha. But as a teacher you must continue to show enthusiasm and energy to engage the class.Haha another funny thing is you have to be very child like when communicating with the kids which at times make me feel a bit girlish haha :P my GOD!!!! Shall update more on my stories... wait and see...
